Things I love about San Diego:
1. Balboa Park. It's big and its beautiful and its full of flowers and dogs and museums and sunshine. We took the dogs there for a three hour walk on Saturday. Moose turned out to be the most popular dog at the park, go figure, with everyone coming up to pet him or give him a treat or water him. The best thing about Balboa Park?: The rose garden!

Loved the Rose Garden
2. Spanish influences. We stopped by the Catholic mission and the Old Town area. It reminded me of being in Virginia except that the Spanish colonized California and not the English. I am trying to see all of the Catholic missions before we move again. The San Diego Mission is the oldest of all the twenty-some built in CA.
3. The ocean! As usual the Pacific was frigid. The dogs got their first swim in the ocean and boy, did they love it! Moose nearly drank the whole thing and both of them loved to chase the waves and watch the water lap up onto the beach. We would have let them off their leashes, but Moose has a history of near drowning incidents.
4. The zoo! They serve beer along side some pretty freaking cool animals. It is probably the biggest, or one of the biggest zoos in America and it was awesome!

5. The people. People in San Diego are either military or friendly or both. And, they love dogs! The cutest little girl chased us down with her bike to pet Moose and Dixie. She wrapped her arms around Moose's neck and gave him a hug AND a kiss! It was adorable!
San Diego is only a three(ish) hour drive from our house... it was so hard to go to work on Tuesday knowing that we had such an awesome weekend in such a cool place. I literally cannot wait to go back!
